USE OF ADJUVANTS WITH BIOLOGICALS AND SOIL HEALTH MANAGMENT IN AGRICULTURE

Virtual Summit, 12 October 2021

Finding the right adjuvants for BioProtection products is a major challenge. As well as providing the required support, adjuvants must be compatible with the active organism and suited to its application technique. This is often cited as the most important obstacle in scaling up a new bioprotectant. This virtual event provided insights from experts, and connections with stakeholders who can help overcome challenges in this area of product development and commercialisation.

Emergency Summit

EMERGENCY SUMMIT FOR THE CONTROL OF LEATHERJACKETS USING IPM

Virtual event, 14 July 2021
The Emergency Summit for the Control of Leatherjacket using IPM, which took place via a virtual platform on Wednesday 14th July 2021, was well attended with more than 100 people linking up to view live throughout the 4-hour event.  Leatherjacket larvae cause extensive damage to turf – in 2021, these pests reached an all-time high, due to removal of toxic chemical pesticides from the market, and the fact that they have thrived in quiet, unused areas during the COVID pandemic. To help the turf industry deal with the problem, the WBF organised this emergency summit, which focussed on the use of cultural, physical and mechanical techniques, bioprotectants and chemicals, to manage leatherjacket infestations in the golf/sports turf and amenity sector.

ANNUAL BIOPESTICIDE SUMMIT 2021

Virtual event, 6 July 2021

The Biopesticide Summit, which took place via a virtual platform on Tuesday 6th July 2021, was well attended with more than 200 people linking up to view live throughout the 3-hour event.  The Summit focussed on regulatory challenges and called for reform to create a regulatory environment that nurtures and supports the BioProtection (formerly known as Biopesticide) industry. This is a worldwide issue, but the UK environment is particularly open to change right now, thanks to the post-Brexit situation.
