Finding the right adjuvants for BioProtection products is a major challenge. As well as providing the required support, adjuvants must be compatible with the active organism and suited to its application technique. This is often cited as the most important obstacle in scaling up a new bioprotectant. This virtual event provided insights from experts, and connections with stakeholders who can help overcome challenges in this area of product development and commercialisation.
The Biopesticide Summit, which took place via a virtual platform on Tuesday 6th July 2021, was well attended with more than 200 people linking up to view live throughout the 3-hour event. The Summit focussed on regulatory challenges and called for reform to create a regulatory environment that nurtures and supports the BioProtection (formerly known as Biopesticide) industry. This is a worldwide issue, but the UK environment is particularly open to change right now, thanks to the post-Brexit situation.
At the inaugural Biopesticide Summit, held at Swansea University on 2–3 July 2019, more than 200 experts from 20 countries gathered to discuss challenges and opportunities in the biocontrol sector. They represented academia, industry, government organisations, public bodies, professionals, investors and end-users.
